A good eyelift - combined with a brow lift where required - will make you look
both refreshed and more beautiful without any tell-tale signs of surgery.
“The eyes are the window to our soul” – yet eye bags and puffy or drooping upper eye lids can often distort our whole appearance making us look tired and sad.
Contemporary surgical techniques to rejuvenate and beautify the eye no longer involve simply removing excess fat and skin – an approach that often results in making the eyes look hollow and unnatural. The focus now is more about preserving and redistributing fat and a more conservative approach to removing loose skin.
In the upper eye crease, volume often needs to be restored to create a crisp, sharper upper lid. With the lower eyelid, the aim is to recreate a youthful curve, smoothing out any “bags” or fat bulges to create a seamless transition to the cheek area (lid-cheek junction).
Rejuvenating the surrounding periorbital area of the eye is also critical. This may involve manipulation of the lower eyelid muscle as well as tightening and elevating the corner of the eyelid.
Rejuvenate your eyes with a blepharoplasty procedure!
More than any of our other features, it’s our eyes that give our faces character; they give us personality and individuality. The ageing process can affect the skin around our eyes, but a simple surgical procedure, known as blepharoplasty, can rejuvenate and revitalise aged skin.
Blepharoplasty usually refers to any surgical technique which lifts the skin around the eyes, although some blepharoplasty procedures will also work on the brow area of the face. The procedure results in a younger-looking face and can be instrumental in boosting the self confidence of the patient.
Most blepharoplasty procedures will involve only an eyelift. However, some patients may benefit from a brow and eyelift carried out at the same time. Dr Steven Liew will discuss your options with you during your consultation, and explain the benefits and nature of each treatment.
Eyelift techniques have progressed in leaps and bounds in recent years, and the most modern techniques can achieve great results with virtually no scarring, enabling the Dr Liew to beautify, balance and rejuvenate the face while leaving behind no evidence of the procedure. Everyone will notice, no-one will know.
Dr Liew will make an incision above the eye, restructuring the tissue beneath the skin or adding fillers to create a more voluminous and healthy effect. Beneath the eye is where many patients report bags and dark circles, which can be smoothed and flattened with another incision at a lower level. The aim is to create perfectly balanced eyes which appear natural and alert while remaining in harmony with the rest of your facial features.
During the course of the procedure, Dr Liew may opt to tighten the edge of the eyelid, or manipulate the muscular tissue around the periorobital area of the eye to achieve a more balanced effect.
Patients will be able to leave hospital after the necessary checks have been carried out and will not be required to stay overnight. You will receive a briefing from a member of our team when you leave and you’ll be informed about all the necessary measures you must take to ensure the best post-procedure results.
Most patients are able to return to work in less than two weeks, with many patients being able to carry out normal everyday tasks, after only a few days. Complications resulting from Blepharoplasty procedures are very rare, but if you have any unusual symptoms, please don’t hesitate to contact Shape Clinic to arrange a check-up.
