Men

Men contemplating cosmetic facial procedures are often fearful treatment will make them appear as if they
have had 'some work' or - even worse - it could feminise their appearance.

In the past five years there has been a dramatic increase in the number of men seeking cosmetic procedures for everything from body sculpting to face lifts.

Men have not been well served by some sections of the cosmetic industry which have tended to take a “one size fits all” approach. Dr Liew has tailored his procedures to ensure the male aesthetic is both retained and enhanced – including his world first procedures to reshape and "masculinise" the face without surgery.

“The world’s most famously handsome leading men such as George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Antonio Banderras all share the same defining features: a low and heavy brow, minor facial lines, a strong square jaw line and prominent chin," says Dr Liew “That is why we take the approach that men must be treated more conservatively than women, to ensure they retain the rugged facial features that define the quintessentially good looking male.”

Dr Liew believes all facial cosmetic work with men, surgical or non-surgical should ensure the male aesthetic is retained by keeping to the following guiding principles:

  • Softening facial, folds and wrinkles - but not completely removing them
  • Restoring lost facial volume - but not exaggerating features
  • Working to a facial template that reflects the universal ideal of the handsome male, including the angular lower face shape which typifies male morphology.

This is in keeping with Dr Liew's philosophy: "Everyone will notice - no-one will know"
